Abstract Architecture - Wednesday Photos

Abstract Architure - Wednesday Photos

As an art student, back in the dark ages, when I was in college, I was a fan of abstract art.  I loved the way the patterns, shapes and colors combined on the canvas.  Some of the incredible spaces in Las Vegas combine shapes and angles in dynamic configurations where they can almost be seen as abstract art or perhaps abstract architecture.

For The Most Serious Chocohaulic - Saturday Photos

For The Most Serious Chocohaulic - Saturday Photos

One of the pleasures in my life is chocolate.  If its calories is has to be chocolate.  Desert without chocolate just isn't as tempting.  The pictures look like abstract sculptures but as you can see they are a grouping of chocolate fountains flowing with all different kinds of chocolate.  The fountains made a very dramatic decoraation in a chocolate shop in Las Vegas.

Patient Pelicans Not Angry Birds

Patient Pelicans Not Angry Birds

These pelicans are waiting patiently by the sign saying advertising their food for sale.  Since they are obviously used to getting treats, they are very tame and let you get extremely close.  From the number of birds that are hanging around, I would think that they probablly get feed regularly.  These are Patient Pelicans not Angry Birds.

These very happy pelicans were photographed on the pier at St. Petersburg, Florida.  Its a good thing that they aren't angry birds, because they are certainly large close up.

Speechless Sunday - Architectural Drama

Large public spaces are often constructed with large scale and drama.  This Las Vegas lobby gives you all that and more.  It is clearly over the top.  I particularly like the shape made by the curved escalators and the statues are just plain fun.  Interesting combination of shape, detail and gaudy, but it works.
