This time of year I always have sellers ask "should I keep my home for sale during the
holidays?"
I think this is a very personal decision with several factors to consider.
There are fewer buyers looking at Charlottesville homes for sale this time of year, but the ones that are looking are serious. If they did not need to purchase right away, they would be busy doing holiday activities. Last December I was so busy with buyers that I almost didn't get my Christmas shopping done.
The other important point to consider is whether your home will be readily available to show during the holidays. This time of year we usually see quite a few listings go on hold or be withdrawn until after January 1. Many sellers are just too busy or have too much company to deal with showings at this time of year. There is no point in keeping your Charlottesville home actively on the market if prospective buyers are not going to be able to easily tour your home. They will want to see it at a time that suits them and their schedules and often will just go on to another home if this is not easily arranged.
You will need to sit down with your Realtor and decide which option would be best for your particular home.
