My First Flip Video - 8 Wildwood Drive

This is my first attempt at creating a video using the Flip Video Camera.  This film is of the interrior of my listing at 8 Wildwood Drive in the gated community of Lake Monticello.

Taking the pictures were fairly easy.  I tood several small clips of most of the rooms.  The trick was holding the camera steady and not moving too fast so that the viewer would n't get motion sickness.  Then I downloaded it all onto my computer.  The next step was to edit each of the individual segments using the cut option.  Then it was time to create the movie dragging each of the segments into the correct order.  It was easy to add a title and music in the Flip video software.  Finally it was time to download to Youtube.  This last step took several tries, but was finally accomplished.

Now I wanted to find the embed code so that I could publish the video to Active Rain.  I searched my youtube account and couldn't find the embed code anywhere.  Finally I queried youtube help and found out that if I played the video and clicked on one of the icons on the video screen I could find the embed code.

I am optomistic that the next time I attempt to do this it will go must faster.  Now I need to work on the actual filming.

I think that this is a good tool for showcasing my listings.

Rocking the Vote in the Internet Election

Judging from early reports we are definately not seeing voter apathy in this election.  How have I heard?  Via the internet of course.  The Today Show among others is aptly calling this the internet election.  This is the first national election in which social networking and web 2.0 has played a major role.vote

Consider the beginning of Obama's campaign.  Young internet savvy staff used social networking on sites such as Facebook and My Space to raise both money and awareness for their candidate; thus helping to propel him into the candidacy.  This gave him a headstart over campaigns using old fashioned, traditional methods of networking and fundraising.

Groups in social media sites on the internet have been  abuzz for months with information and opinions on both candidates.  More than ever before we have had the opportunity to discuss the election with many people across the country.  Users on Facebook, Linkedin, Active Rain, Twitter and even Real Talk have been debating candidates and platforms.  Real talkers have discussed all of the issues ad infinatum and Saul even held a mock election.  Facebookers have given up their updates today to urge people to get out the vote.  Twits have been tweeting all morning about the lines at their poling places across the country.  I'm sure that it is the same on other networking sites as well.

If anyone still doubts the power of social networking to bring dramatic results to their business, they only need to look at this presidential race and the effects of web 2.0.   The next time anyone asks you why you spend so much time blogging or tweeting, just mention this campaign and the role played by online networking.

Rock the Vote and Rock Your Business!!
