Waiting to Exhale

There are only a few hours left before President-elect Obama is sworn inLincoln's inauguration as our country's first African-American president.  I feel like the whole country has been holding it's collective breath for several months now awaiting this historic moment.  Have you ever noticed that when you are afraid or paralized with indicision you end up holding your breath? Even though interest rates are at 30 year lows and inventory is high with many good deals out there, buyers are not buying.  What is everybody waiting for?  Many are waiting to see what the new president will do.  Generally I am sensing a feeling of support for the new administration even among people who did not vote for Obama.  Everyone wants him to succeed, because if he succeeds then the country will succeed.  At least maybe we will finally be out of the holding pattern and into a time of action.  Housing is poised to gradually rebound and some real estate markets have already begun to improve, perhaps the new administration will be the catalyst to reverse the trend and start the market on an upward swing.  We need an infusion of consumer confidence and maybe todays events will help provide just that!

Listen carefully at noon;  what you think is the wind blowing could just be the whole country exhaling.
