Its Raining In Charlottesville - Lets go Look At Foreclosures!

Its raining in Charlottesville; lets go look at foreclosures!cloud and rain

Today it was pouring all day.  Ordinarily you might think that this would be a horrible day to look at homes.  Afterall, even a home that is ordinarily lightfilled can look dark on a day like today.  However, a rainy day can be the perfect day to look at bank owned homes.

Foreclosures are sold "as is" and often are called distressed properties for a reason.  During the months preceeding the actual foreclosure while the homeowner is struggling pay the mortgage there is just not money left over for upkeep.  Maintenance has been deferred and the homes are often in various stages of disrepair.  It is useful to view these properties during a heavy rain or just after.  This gives you the opportunity to make sure that there are not any leaks in the roof as well as checking the basement or crawl space for water.

Today I showed two bank owned homes to some first time homebuyers.  We were happy to see that despite the extremely heavy rain, neither of the homes had water issues.

So sunny days are great but don't pass up looking at Charlottesville foreclosed homes in the rain.
