Charlottesville golf Communities - Spring Creek

Spring Creek may have the most beautiful golf course of all of the Charlottesville golf communities.  In fact the Spring Creek golf course was awarded best new course by Golf Digest in 2009.  Today I was in Spring Creek looking at lots for some clients and I couldn't resist taking a couple of photos of the picture perfect course.

The wild flowers lining the cart path are particularly pretty.  Such a gorgeous setting in which to play golf.

If you are shopping for a home in a Charlottesville golf community, a must see is Spring Creek.  The neighborhood is located just off of I64 at Zion Crossroads about 12 miles east of Charlottesville.  In addition to the amazing golf course the rest of the family will enjoy the pool complex.  This gated community offers a variety of home options with several different builders and also townhomes as well as single family residences.  There are a number of resale homes on the market, but if you don't see your dream home among them, you may also purchase a "too be built" home from one of the builders working in the development.

There is a wide selection of Charlottesville golf communities and a Glenmore golf course home may be the choice for you.

The Charlottesville golf community with the best views is Old Trail.

Charlottesville Virginia has several neighborhoods with golf courses, but if its mountain views that you want, you can't beat Old Trail.  The Old Trail Golf Club has a par 72, 18 hole course with spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Old Trail is located in the foorhills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Crozet VA just outside of Charlottesville and also an easy commute to Waynesboro.

The Old Trail neighborhood is laid out with walkability in mind.  And of course you need something to walk to.  This is where the Old Trail Town Center comes in with its mix of small retail shops and restaurants. 

The Old Trail neighborhood has a variety of home sizes and prices to choose from.  There are townhouses and detached homes ranging in price from $239,000 to $1,065,000.  These include both resale homes and new construction.  Almost everywhere in the community has mountain views.

If you are looking for a Charlottesville golf course community, don't forget to look at Old Trail.

Charlottesville Virginia has several golf communities and one of the most popular is Glenmore.

Not only does Glenmore have an excellent golf course, but the neighborhood offers almost anything else you could desire.  Homeowners have the opportunity to join the Glenmore Country Club which in addition to golf, has a tennis facility, pool complex, and exercise facility, plus a very good dining room.  Also there is an adjoining privately owned equestrian center for any horselovers.

Glenmore is conveniently located in Keswick Virginia about 4 miles outside of Charlottesville VA.

Today there are 25 Glenmore homes offered for sale ranging in price from $429,000 for a Glenmore cottage to $1,848,000 for a 6,000+ Sq ft home.  If you would prefoer to build your dream home,  there are also some lots available.  Currently there are 26 Glenmore building lots offered for sale priced from $199,000 to $599,000.  There are even some golf course lots among them.

This Glenmore lot on Melrose Lane is within walking distance of the clubhouse and has beautiful pond views.  At .56 acres, it is offered for sale at $290,000.

If you are looking for a Charlottesville golf course home, you should definately look at Glenmore.

One of the newest of the Charlottesville golf communities is Old Trail.   You will have a hard time finding another golf course anywhere with Blue Ridge Mountain views to match those Old Trail.  This neighborhood is located in Crozet Virginia about a 10 minute drive west of Charlottesville at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Old Trail golf course is open to the public, but memberships are available as well.  This course has been voted Charlottesville's favorite place to play golf for two years.  The 18 hole course has multiple tees to accomodate all skill levels of golfers.  Old Trail's golf facility has a club house with a golf shop and grille.  There is also a pavillion which offers the perfect spot for weddings, private parties and events set against the backdrop of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Additional Old Trail amenities incllude a pool complex, walking trails, park and soccer fields.

The Charlottesville golf community of Old Trail has been designed with the urban neighborhood concept in mind.  There is a Village Center within walking distance offering shops, dining, an ACAC fitness center, coffee shop, businesses and even appartment living.  In addition, area schools are close by.

Old Trail offers Charlottesville golf homes in a wide range of prices.  Since several builders are building in Old Trail, there is a variety of home styles as well.  Today, March 25, 2009 there are single family detatched homes for sale in Old Trail ranging in price from $389,915 to $1,290,000 and in square footage from 1,940 to 6,418 square feet.  There are also two attached homes in Old Trail listed today for $199,900 and $299,000.

A home in a Charlottesville golf community is a great choice for the serious golfer and an Old Trail home offers a great choice for the entire family.

The largest of the Charlottesville golf communities is Lake Monticello.  This gated community is lake a little city with several thousand homes.  Lake Monticello is located in Fluvanna County about a 20 minute drive from Charlottesville Virginia.

The Lake Monticello golf course is a semi private 18 hole par 72 course that was designed for all skill  levels of players.  To accomodate the various levels there are championship, mens, seniors and ladies tees.  According to the LMOA website "the fairways are open, but there are out of bounds, woods and/or water on every hole."  Group or individual lessons are available.

A 350 acre lake is at the heart of the Lake Monticello neighborhood.  The lake is perfect for boating, fishing and water skiing.  There are also 5 beaches for swimming.

The Lake Monticello clubhouse is ideal for meetings and events.  There is also dining at the club.  In addition both the pool and the proshop include snack bars.

Other sports amenities are a basketball court, playgrounds, horseshoe courts and a soccer of softball field.

The Lake Monticello golf community has 131 homes for sale as of today March 24, 2009.  These homes range in price from $129,900 to $998,900 and go from 912 sq ft to 5000 sq ft.  Of these 10 are Lake Monticello golf homes.  These homes with golf course views range from $184,500 to $429,900.  Also 9 Lake Monticello homes for sale are waterfront homes.  These are priced from $238900 to $998,900.

These Charlottesville golf homes offer a price range and a homestyle for everyone.  This is definately not a community of cookie cutter homes.  There is a wide range of architectural styles and also home sizes.

Although Lake Monticello is 20 minutes from Charlottesville Virginia, this does not mean that you have to drive that far to shop.  Just outside the gates to The Lake there are a variety of shops including a grocery store, pharmacy, hardware store, fitness center, garden center and several restaurants among others.

The most elegant of the Charlottesville Golf Communities is Keswick Estates.  Keswick Estates is a gated community offering Charlottesville luxury homes on large lots. This neighborhood is located in Keswick Virginia just about 5 minutes east of Charlottesville Virginia.

Just outside the gates of the community is Keswick Hall which is an Orient Express Hotel.  This hotel boasts luxurious accomodations with gourmet dining overlooking the beautiful Keswick golf course.

The Keswick Club located next to Keswick Hall includes members from the Charlottesville community as well as residents of Keswick Estates.  The club features the excellent 18 hole Arnold Palmer signature golf course.  There are also 5 lighted tennis courts, as well as a full service spa and a fitness center.  In addition the club has a restaurant for its members and provides a full social calendar.

The Keswick Estates is a community of gracious custom Charlottesville golf homes which are situated on 2 to 8 acre lots.  There are golf course homes as well as homes that are on more private lots.

At this time, March 22, 2009 the Keswick Estates homes that are on the market range in size from 3,300 sq ft to 7,794 sq ft.  The homes currently for sale in Keswick Estates are priced from $1,795,000 to $3,100,000.

Charlottesville golf communities are one of the most popular places to buy a home in the Charlottesville Virginia area.  With the popularity of the game of golf buying a golf course home is always in demand.  the oldest golf community in Charlottesville and Albemarle County is Farmington.

Farmington is located in Albemarle County just about one mile west of Charlottesville Virginia.  This highly desirable location adds to the community's popularity.

Farmington which is the grand dame of the Charlottesville golf communities centers around the historic Farmington Country Club.  Farmington was a 4,000 acre estate dating back to the mid 1700s.  The origional ssection of the club house boasts an octagonal addition which was designed by Thomas Jefferson.  In 1929 what was then a 1000 acre estate was developed into a country club with the origional manor house at its heart.

Farmington as any Charlottesville golf community is centered around its excellent golf course.  The club boasts 27 holes of golf with its origional 18 hole course and a newer less challenging additional 9 holes which is popular with beginners or those desiring a more casual experience. 

Tennis is also a priority at Farmington with 15 outdoorcourts, 6 of which are lighted, 3 indoor courts and 3 platform tennis courts.  A fitness center and an aquatic center with a 25 meter lap pool and a 12 foot diving well round out the athletic venues.

Farmington Country Club has the destinction of being one of the oldest private clubs in Virginia.  In addition to the sporting events the club has a complete and varied social calendar and even includes a ballroom.  Dining opportunities abound in the Farmington Grill, Terrace Room, main dining room, and pool snack bar.

Farmington is a community of stately, classically designed homes situated on large lots.  Many of the homes were built in the fifties and sixties and often have been updated since then.  However they are known for quality construction and craftsmanship.

At this time there are two Farmington homes actively listed on the Charlottesville Virginia real estate market.  The homes are priced at $1,450,000 and $1,999,000 and sit on 1.8 acres and 2.3 acres.

During the past 12 months Farmington homes sold.  The homes sold for $1,465,000, $1,950,000 and $2,247,250 and the lots ranged in sixe from 1.2 acres to 3.85 acres.
