The Central Virginia real estate tax rates are something that I always include in my relocation packets for out of town home buyers.
Clients looking at Charlottesville homes for sale are always interested in knowing real estate taxes on a particular property. If you know the assessed value and also the tax rate it is easy to calculate the taxes on any home that you are considering. For instance if you are looking at a Charlottesville home that is assessed at $300,000 and the Charlottesville tax rate is $0.95 per $100 it is nor hard to determine the yearly real estate taxes. First you would divide the assessed value $300,000 by $100 which equals $3000. Then you would multiply $3000 by the tax rate of $0.95 and you come up with yearly taxes of $2850.
Many clients who come to Charlottesville from the Northeast remark that they find our tax rates much lower than where they currently live.
