Live Green - Measure Your Carbon Footprint

Green building practices and energy conservation are becoming increasingly more popular to consumers.  Each person on the planet adds to the emission of greenhouse gases.  Through the choices we make in how we live our lives we have the ability to lessen the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that we create.

The Nature Conservancy has a carbon footprint calculator that we can use to measure the amount of greenhouse gases that we are creating as a result of our lifestyle.  We can use this calculator to see the areas where we need to make different choices in order to reduce our negative impact on the planet.

Click here to use the calculator.

We are seeing an increase in the construcion of "green" homes in the Charlottesville, Virginia real estate market.  If you would like information on "green" or energy efficient homes for sale in the Central Virginia area, contact me.  I would love to use my local knowledge, love of the Virginia countryside and attention to detail to help you with your real estate needs.

Pam:  That's a scary calculator,.  And given the changes I've already made and still getting the result I did, it's easy to feel like giving up.  But not me.....:)

Wow...that calculator is an eye-opening tool.  I can't believe how much more the Carbon Footprint is for the average 3-person household in the US versus the average 3-person household in the rest of the world.  It is crazy!
