Lets talk turkey...Thenksgiving turkey that is. You may know that a significant part of the Charlottesville, Virginia and Piedmont Virginia green movement has been the Buy Fresh Buy Local
Campaign, but you may not realize that the program includes more than just fruits and vegetables. Consider ordering your holiday turkey from one of the Piedmont Virginia turkey farms. Your family will appreciate the flavor and freshness of a locally raised turkey, while supporting the area economy at the same time. Remember that locally grown meats and produce do not use the fuel for transpotation of foods that must be shipped in over longer distances.
Think green, buy Local!

Pam, you look so pink...nice... As for turkeys, I vote for buying local and fresh farm raised. Our area is on the leading edge of organic farming. We ever possible I buy local at our farmers market and our organic food coop.
Local farm raised turkey will be gracing our Thanksgiving table as well.
Buy local, buy direct whenever possible.

We have a similar campaign to "Buy fresh. Buy local." Ours is called "Think globally. Buy locally." My own locally campaign many decades ago was called "Freshest is bestest. Buy locally."
